I don’t know if your preschooler is anything like mine, but my preschooler has some definite opinions about her Halloween costume.
This year she insisted she wanted to be a cow, and she was adamant that I make her cow costume. No store bought costume was going to appease her.
This week has been one of the busiest weeks in my life, so I knew any costume I made had to be quick. I think I hit a home run this time!
Supplies for a No Sew Cow Costume
You only need a few supplies to make this cute cow! You’ll need a white shirt that you don’t mind ruining. You’ll also need some black pants (you won’t ruin those). I picked up a Garanimals long sleeved white shirt and black leggings for $3.88 each at Walmart.
You’ll also need black and pink felt. I used one sheet of pink felt and two sheets of black felt. Those are 25 cents a piece at Walmart.
Finally, I found cute cow costume accessories, which included the ears and tail I was looking for. ($4.97 at Walmart)
And if you don’t have any Liquid Stitch or other fabric glue on hand, you’ll want to pick up a tube of that, too.
Total Costume Cost: Under $20.
How to Make a No Sew Cow Costume
First, cut an oval out of the pink felt. Use the Liquid Stitch to glue it to the front of the white shirt.
Next, cut random black shapes out of the black felt. I didn’t use a pattern or anything. Glue the black spots on the front of the shirt around the pink felt and also down the arms.
That’s it. The entire costume took me about 30 minutes to make. And I thought last year’s owl costume was easy!
The preschooler is happy, and I’m happy that I could make her happy!
