Fall is in full swing, and it’s the season for fall flavored treats. Pumpkin, sugar cookies….yum, yum, YUM! It seems everywhere you turn, there are new fall flavored items on store shelves.
This year Pringles jumped on the bandwagon by releasing their own limited edition flavors. I was given the opportunity to try two of them: Pumpkin Pie Spice, and Cinnamon & Sugar.
As I have mentioned in previous food review posts, I’m quite the traditionalist. I was really skeptical about pumpkin and sugar flavored potato chips. I love Pringles, though, so I thought I’d give these new flavors a try prior to their release in stores.
I popped open the Pringles and set out some chips for the family. The reviews were mixed. On the plus side, these new Pringles flavors are still Pringles. If you want a crisp, crunchy snack, you won’t be disappointed in that aspect.
On the downside, my family agreed that the new flavors aren’t exactly what you’d expect in a potato chip. My husband thought the Pumpkin Pie Spice Pringles were OK. I liked the Cinnamon & Sugar Pringles a little bit better. None of us loved either of the flavors, though. We’re normally Pringles fans, too. But for our family, the new sweet tastes just didn’t work with what should be a savory snack.
Back to the plus side: neither of the flavored Pringles had an overpowering taste. Both the Pumpkin Pie Spice and the Cinnamon & Sugar flavors are very subtle. And reactions to the Pringles are very mixed. I polled some of the other Walmart Moms who tried these products, and some of them liked the new flavors.
The bottom line is, you’ll just have to try them for yourself and make your own decision. Pumpkin Pie Spice and Cinnamon & Sugar Pringles are available at your local Walmart for a limited time. And if you do decide to try them, let me know what you think!
